高效课堂·融合课程——园外打造以学生为中心的特色英语教学模式

走进小学英语特色课堂


英语学习是一个循序渐进、不断积累的过程。在外语教育生态不断演进的今天,苏州工业园区外国语学校积极探索适合园外学生发展的国际化英语课堂。 

English learning is a process of gradual and continuous acquisition. Today, as the role of English language in China continues to develop, Suzhou Industrial Park Foreign Language School (SIPFLS) seeks to establish a tailed international English classroom for all students.



以学生为中心的高效课堂


 
园外小学部英语教研组致力于打造以学生为中心的高效课堂。从一年级入学起,我们就注重对学生英语口语、听力等能力的培养。学校开设了具有园外特色的英语课程,为学生提供多元化、具有国际视野的学习平台。

The Team of English Teaching and Research is committed to creating a student-centered and internationally oriented learning platform for all SIPFLSers in SIPFLS Primary School. We have been emphasizing on the development of student’s oral English and listening skills since the day they enter our school.


基于学生发展的需求,园外的英语教材包括苏教版教材、剑桥原版教材、校本教材。三套教材既符合新课标英语教学的要求,又能让学生们从全新的视角习得更具深度与广度的知识要点。

To keep in line with student’s needs, SIPFLS English reference includes textbooks required by Jiangsu Government, Cambridge textbooks, and the school-based textbooks. These three not only meet the requirements of the new curriculum of English teaching, but also enable students to acquire more in-depth and extensive knowledge from a new perspective.

 
园外小学部国际班的学生每天一节中教英语课、一节外教英语课,每周一节EEC英语课、英语阅读课。融合班的学生每天还拥有半天的时间和外教朝夕相处,在纯英语环境的浸润下提高自己的英语水平。

Students in SIPFLS Primary School have two English lessons every day, one taught by a foreign teacher while the other by a Chinese teacher. In addition, they are offered an ECC and English Reading class every week. Nevertheless, ILP Students have an opportunity to be fully engaged in an authentic English-speaking environment for half a day on campus.

英语活动助力学科发展

园外的英语教学离不开各项主题活动的融入。主题英语节是小学部的特色活动。本学期,我们开展了复活节主题英语节,同学们从做彩蛋、知识问答、看图说话、编故事等系列活动中深入了解复活节的相关知识。

SIPFLS English class always integrates activities and games with various themes. Notably, English Festival is one of the topic-based school campaigns. This semester, we launched an Easter-themed English Festival, where students learned more about Easter throughout a series of activities such as making eggs, quizzes, reading pictures and composing stories.


 

本学期融合班的同学们还举办了以生物链为主题的Science Fair。这次学科展从筹备(分组讨论、制作海报和PPT、以及建构相应的模型,撰写演说稿),到展览的最终呈现都是由学生们自主探究、讨论合作完成。

Apart from English Festival, Bio-chain Science Fair was another campaign organized by our LIP students. The fair was proposed and conducted by our young learners, including group discussions, posters and PPTs, the construction of corresponding models and speech writing.

 
 
通过这次Science Fair,让我们更清晰地感受到,同学们英语综合能力的提升,离不开融合班英语日常学习的积淀。

This Science Fair can be seen as strong evidence that English learning is an accumulation of daily acquisition.
 
 
 
园外学子硕果累累

近年来,园外坚持探索适合园外学生发展的国际化英语课堂也取得了丰硕的教学成果。

In recent years, SIPFLS is committed to establishing a student-oriented curriculum for its students and it has achieved fruitful results.



 
冉孟哲,曹聿泽在星星火炬北京总决赛获得国家一等奖。

To illustrate, students including Ran Mengzhe and Cao Yuze won the first prize in the finals of XXHJ National Talent Competition.


 
地球村新加坡赛共6人参加,6人皆获国际二等奖、三等奖。

Six students participated in the “Global Village” Children & Youths Bilingual Speech Competition in Singapore and all of them won prizes.


 
CCTV杯英杯英语风采大赛苏州赛区决赛共11人晋级省赛,其中5人参赛,5人皆获得省级奖项。

Furthermore, Eleven students were advanced to Jiangsu Finals of CTV Cup English Speaking Contest. Five of them won provincial awards.


在2019英语能力大赛中,小学部共720人报名参加初赛,543人晋级苏州市决赛。221名同学报名参加苏州市决赛,190名同学获得苏州市一二三等奖。56人获得一等奖晋级江苏省总决赛。

In total, 720 students in SIPFLS Primary School registered for the preliminary round of 2019 National English Contest for Primary Students and 543 were nominated to Suzhou Finals. Notably, 221 students participated in Suzhou-wide competition, and 190 of them won prizes. In particular, 56 won the first prize and were nominated to Jiangsu Finals.

至此,在江苏省决赛到来之前,小学部所有英语老师开启了备战模式,尽自己最大的努力,积极配合组委会,配合家长,做好学生的指导工作,让我们期待38名园外学子在江苏省总决赛中取得好成绩。

Before Jiangsu Finals arrives, all English teachers in SIPFLS Primary School are making preparations and trying their best to help the students, parents and competition committees. We are looking forward to good news from our 38 candidates in this contest.
