痛并快乐着——园外IB国际高中十一年级越南义工活动纪实

初夏,伴随着徐徐微风和淡淡花香,苏州工业园区外国语学校IB国际高中部十一年级学生以及随行的六位老师开启了为期八天的越南义工之旅。经过6个小时的舟车劳顿,孩子们平安到达了越南。他们被分成了两组,分别前往Da Bia 和Cuc Phuong进行志愿者活动。让我们跟着学生们一起了解一下他们的义工之旅。
In early summer, along with the breeze and the fragrance of flowers, IB Y11 students and six accompanying teachers started the eight-day volunteer tour in Vietnam. After a six-hour trek to Vietnam, they were divided into two groups, respectively going to Da Bia and UC Phuong for volunteer activities. Next let's follow in their footsteps to find out more what they have done there. 

学生主要在两个地点进行实践活动,分别是Cuc Phuong 国家公园以及Da Bia村庄。在Cuc Phuong国家公园,学生们首先参观了各类濒临灭绝的动物庇护所,包括熊狸,果子狸,穿山甲,水獭,豹猫,长臂猿等等。 学生们在国家公园为被救援的长臂猿完成一个全新的笼子。另外,学生们还需要为穿山甲,水濑和果子狸清理笼子并处理隔天的食物残渣,为正在恢复的灵长类动物构建模拟自然生态化的栖息地。在准备丰富食物的过程中,学生们用树叶来隐藏食物,灵长类动物运用它们的灵巧和解决问题的技能来获取食物。在Da Bia 村庄,活动的任务是修建两个蓄水池,保障村中十几户人家的用水。学生们首要任务就是要将3吨的沙子和5袋混凝土运往位于半山腰的水池建造地。现有的装运工具较为简陋,只有竹竿和蛇皮袋。每组同学都积极讨论,想出了各种方案,然后由各组组长讨论,确定最终方案。最终方案以接力方式进行,他们根据男女生体力的不同,分配不同的路段及运输方式。同时也对现有的简陋工具进行了改造。
Students did the volunteering mainly in two locations in the 5 days: Cuc Phuong National Park and Da Bia village. At Cuc Phuong national park, students first visited shelters for a variety of endangered animals, including bearcats, civets, pangolins, otters, ocelots, gibbons and more. Students will complete a new cage for rescued gibbons in the national park, clean cages for pangolins, wrappers and civets for the next day's food waste, and create simulated natural habitats for recovering primates. In the process of preparing a rich meal, the students use leaves to hide the food, which requires primates to use their dexterity and problem-solving skills to obtain the food. In the village of Da Bia, the activists were tasked with building two reservoirs to supply water to more than a dozen homes in the village. The students' first task was to transport three tons of sand and five bags of concrete to the pool site halfway up the mountain. The existing tools of transport are rudimentary, with only bamboo poles and snakeskin bags. Each group of students actively discussed, came up with a variety of plans, and then by the group leader to discuss and determine the final plan. The final plan was carried out in relay mode. According to the different physical strength of male and female students, different sections and transportation modes were allocated. It also transforms the existing primitive tools.


看到通过自己的双手,帮助管理员搭起了笼子,给动物们打理了住处,喂饱了穿山甲,帮助村民运好了搭建水池的材料,学生们表示虽然辛苦但确值得。这又是一次收获满满的旅程。师生都表示希望以后可以参加更多的类似的义工活动。
Through their own effort, they helped the administrator set up the cage, cleaned up the shelter for the animals, fed pangolins, and helped the villagers transport the materials to build the pool, the students said that although it was hard work, it was worth it. This is another journey full of harvest. Teachers and students expressed the hope that they could participate in more similar volunteer activities in the future.
