纸上得来终觉浅，绝知此事要躬行——园外国际初中部七、八年级养活教育（牧谷）基地实践记略
纸上得来终觉浅，绝知此事要躬行，2019年3月4日、11日，苏州工业园区外国语学校国际初中部七、八年级师生，分两批前往苏州工业园区外国语学校养活教育（牧谷）基地，进行为期各两周的养活教育实践。
On Mar. 4th and 11th, Grade 7 & 8 teachers and students of Junior High Department arrived at Muku Farm for two weeks of practical activity.
早春三月，草长莺飞。孩子们睡醒起身，活动筋骨，集体早餐。上午是文化课程，与在校日常课程无缝衔接。下午开展农耕（生产劳动）课和选修课。整地播种、葡萄扦插、树叶拓片、肥皂制作、豆腐制作等，形式各异，内容丰富，孩子们兴趣盎然，热情参与。
Students woke up, did some exercise and had breakfast in the morning. After that they took cultural classes and in the afternoon they had agricultural classes and elective classes. Loosening the soil and seeding, grape cutting, soap making and tofu making, students were interested and completely engaged.
卓有成效的养活教育实践，锻炼了孩子们独立生活的能力，培养了他们勤劳的品质，强化了服务意识，意义非凡。更重要的是，在践行“养活教育”思想过程中，他们学会了发现问题，进而设法思考并解决问题；在这样的过程中，他们或自我学习，或相互帮助，学习的主动性和资源整合的能力都得到提升。
Self-support education has enhanced students’ independent living skills and cultivated diligence quality and strengthened service awareness, which are of great significance. More importantly, they learned to find problems and tried to think about and solve them successfully. In this process, they either learned by themselves or helped each other, and their learning motivation and resource integrating skills were improved as well.
3曰30日上午，此次养活教育实践告一段落。参与这次实践的同学们，对于养活教育思想又有了更深入的体会和理解，纷纷撰写了心得。园外从实际出发，践行养活教育思想，设置有效课程，创造让学生亲身体验的机会，学会养活自己的技能，再回馈他人的价值信念。在这里，我们播下一颗种子，愿它生根发芽，长成参天大树。
This practical activity came to the end on the morning of Mar. 30th. Students who participated in the activity had a deeper understanding of self-support education philosophy and wrote down their own opinions. We have been implementing self-support education philosophy and offering effective courses and creating many opportunities for students to experience. They have realized that they should learn to support themselves firstly before repaying parents, family and the society.
